2018 Oral Health Resolutions

2018 Oral Health Resolutions

Welcome 2018! Out with the old and in with the new. As we begin a new year, it’s always a great time to resolve to be healthier, wealthier and wiser. Like most dentists across the globe, we also encourage you to include better oral health and hygiene in your resolutions! Whether it’s improving toothbrushing habits or completing a necessary dental treatment, the benefits of setting healthy goals can be rewarding and motivating. Always remember to make your resolutions attainable, to avoid discouragement.

Dental Cleaning and Exam

If it’s been more than 6 months since your last dental exam and cleaning, you’re due. Get rid of unsightly plaque that has built up, it can make your breath unappealing and may lead to gum disease. Get your yearly oral cancer screening and make sure there is nothing else going on inside your mouth. Schedule an appointment today.

Brush and Floss

Simply brushing and flossing your teeth daily will help to prevent periodontal disease. Brush twice a day using a good toothbrush. Floss at least once per day to remove the unwanted leftovers that have accumulated in your mouth throughout the day. (Remember to replace that toothbrush every 3 months.)

Restore Your Teeth

For many, dental benefits restart at the beginning of the year, so the new year is a great time to complete any recommended dental work. Aligners, implants, crowns and fillings will help preserve your tooth structure.

Brighten Your Smile

Improve your smile with teeth whitening and start the year off bright! Remove stains from wine, coffee, tea and tobacco (and resolve to quit smoking!). Call Comprehensive Oral Health of Oxon Hill to schedule a professional in-office teeth whitening procedure.

Healthier Choices

Making healthier food and drink choices are an important part of achieving your oral health resolutions. Frequent consumption of food and beverages containing carbs and acids contribute to tooth decay. Modify your diet and remember to brush and floss!
